Home automation has always been something really interesting to me. There are always things that things can be done with automation such as timed routines that or alerts for when things happen but the technology seemed limited.

In 2016 I started my journey with a SmartThings hub, Philips Hue light bulbs and Ecobee thermostats. Using Google Home and Amazon Echo as my Voice User Interface (VUI) I could control some of my house and SmartThings had automations that could use time of day and other triggers to do things like control lights and manage my thermostats.

Many years later with Z-Wave, Home Assistant and many more device and API integrations, I still find myself tinkering and wondering what else I could do. One of the latest is being able to cast my workout to my TV and to automatically turn off when I’m done. Below is a version of my dashboard using Bubble Cards framework.
